Julia Croft graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 2008.

As part of her third year, Julia undertook an apprenticeship with Shakespeare and Company in Massachusetts in the states. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in English and Theatre) from Canterbury University.

Since graduation Julia has appeared in the short film The Unicorn, Emma (Fortune Theatre), Autobahn (Basement theatre), Fiona Samuel’s tele-feature Bliss and Disney's Legend of the Seeker.

She travelled to Thailand with acclaimed Australian director John Bolton, where she assistant directed a production of Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle inside Mae La Refugee camp with a cast of Burmese refugees. Julia is also a member of the physical theatre company Red Leap Theatre and is part of the cast for their new devised work Paper Sky, which premiered as part of the Auckland Festival 2011.
